Australian Indigenous Studies 2

This subject introduces students to the study of anthropology and sociology with specific reference to issues affecting Indigenous Australians. The content of this subject focuses on the effects these disciplines have had on the construction of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and their identities. Topics include: who are the Indigenous people of Australia? the concept of culture; language and communication; the social significance of race; power and social inequality; religion; art and music.
