International Tourism introduces students to the general patterns of world tourism taking a broad overview of international tourism developments, trends and products. The historical, cultural, environmental and political resources of a wide range of countries are reviewed within the context of worldwide tourism geography.
Learning Objectives:
- understand the structure, nature and functioning of international tourism;
- develop a knowledge and understanding of tourism products, issues and trends worldwide;
- develop a knowledge of the locations and resources of the tourism regions of the world;
- develop high level skills in the preparation and presentation of written information and public speaking.
Assessment by on-course assessment (60%); final examination (40%).
