Specialisation in Public Health 1

Semester 1 and 2 (Internal and Limited Attendance).

Available to all students enrolled in the Doctor of Public Health.

An advanced subject in an area of specialisation in public health to provide advanced knowledge and methodological training to support the Doctor of Public Health projects. The area of specialisation may include one or more of the following: epidemiology/biostatistics; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health; rural and remote health; health economics; public health policy; international health; health promotion and education; health workforce education; primary health care; public health entomology; disease control and infectious diseases; occupational and environmental health; tropical medicine; public health management; cancer epidemiology.

Learning Objectives:

  1. master the methodologies associated with an area of specialisation in public health;
  2. acquire skills to function as a specialist in the public health workforce in the chosen area.
