Semester 1 and 2 (Internal and Limited Attendance).

Available to all students enrolled in the Doctor of Public Health.

Students of the Doctor of Public Health participate in an advanced seminar program and/or national and international conference program to develop, critically analyse and defend their Doctor of Public Health research. The advanced seminar program also includes studies on ethics, safety, technical proficiencies, presentation technologies and skills, public relations, epidemiology, biostatistics, social science research methods and research support services, as required for their area(s) of research.

Learning Objectives:

  1. develop technical and other skills required by a Doctor of Public Health researcher;
  2. critically analyse advanced studies in public health;
  3. develop and defend a proposal for the project/thesis.

Assessment by presentation of seminar papers and/or substantial peer-reviewed conference papers at national and/or international meetings (100%).
