Public Health Management

This subject introduces management theory and skills as they pertain to public health. Topics include: systems theory, objectives in management, project management, risk analysis, strategic analysis, quality improvement and management control systems. Team work and conflict management skills will be improved through experiential learning.
Learning Objectives:
- understand the basic principles of management theory;
- work more effectively as a member of a team;
- apply project management techniques to improve project outcomes;
- apply management control systems to keep projects on track;
- use management techniques in health care settings.
Assessment normally comprises two quizzes (20%); team project (35%); assignment (45%).
