Theatre Studio 3B

Townsville HECS Band 1

Up to 120 hours workshops. Semester 2.

Available to BT students only.

Students will undertake modules in either Acting or Production.

Acting

Vocal modules — voice for multi media; vocal fitness in rehearsal, vocal stamina in performance.

Movement and related theatre studies — students undertake two modules that may include Makeup, Fencing, Ballroom Dancing, Combat Fighting or Singing.

Production

Students undertake secondment with a professional company or venue. Length and appropriateness to be negotiated with course coordinator.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to develop models for learning which mirror professional practice in order that students may prepare for entry into the profession or for further study in the discipline.

Assessment by:

Acting

Voice: voice journal (10%); multi-media projects (15%); vocal rehearsal techniques (10%); performance (15%).

Movement: process work (25%); performance project (25%).

Production

Student’s written report (3,000 words) (50%); supervisor’s report (30%); weekly reports (20%).
