Theatre Practice 3B

Townsville HECS Band 1

Up to 240 hours workshops. Semester 2.

Available to BT students only.

Students will undertake modules in either Acting or Production.

Acting

Students focus their work in one public performance and in audition pieces that will be used to showcase their skills to agents within the arts industry.

Production

Students undertake secondment with a professional company or venue. Length and appropriateness to be negotiated with course coordinator.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to develop models for learning which mirror professional practice in order that students may prepare either for entry into the profession or for further study in the discipline.

Assessment by:

Acting

Two practical projects (rehearsal process 25%, performance skills 70%); two creative journals (1000 words) (5%).

Production

Student’s written report (3,000 words) (50%); supervisor’s report (30%); weekly reports (20%).
