Acting 2: The Art of Acting

Townsville HECS Band 1

52 hours workshops. Semester 1.

Available to all students except those enrolled in the BT.

This subject provides the students with the basic skills of analysis of the written text; approaches to text consistent with the different styles and genres (comedy, tragedy, classical play, contemporary play and children’s theatre); and the application of the techniques learned in level 1 studies to a performance. The training process will culminate in a studio production. Students will also undertake modules in voice and movement.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to enable students to identify, obtain and employ a mastery of fundamental key competencies necessary for theatre skills.

Assessment by rehearsal process (50%); performance (40%); creative journal (10%).
