Joint Honours Thesis

Full year.

Available to students who qualify for entry to the honours program in any two disciplines.

Staff: Individual supervisors.

Interdisciplinary training in honours level research and writing between any two disciplines in the Faculty of Arts, Education and Social Sciences.

Learning Objectives:

  1. demonstrate clarity of concept and originality of research project;
  2. demonstrate appropriate levels and direction of research;
  3. demonstrate monograph-style organisation, including an introduction, chapter division and conclusion which demonstrate clarity and coherence of argument;
  4. demonstrate evidence of understanding of and engagement with theories relevant to the topic, both contemporary and traditional;
  5. demonstrate technical correctness, as regards grammar, spelling, syntax, scholarly apparatus and bibliographical data, embodied in a fluent and readable style and a scholarly manner and tone.

Assessment by completed thesis to be submitted by the beginning of October (100%).
