Dynamics of Sport and Exercise Behaviour

Coaching effectiveness; motivation, arousal, stress and anxiety and sport and exercise performance; competition and cooperation; leadership; exercise adherence; team dynamics, sport and exercise behavioural skills training; skill acquisition and retention; overtraining, under-recovery and underperformance; distraction strategies and intensity regulation; exercise adoption and adherence; exercise therapy.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to develop understanding of the impact of behavioural processes on sport and exercise performance;
  2. to evaluate the utility of behavioural assessment strategies in various sport and exercise contexts.

Assessment by a three-hour end-of-semester examination (50%); on-course tutorial assignments (10%); written assignment (40%).
