Motor Learning and Motor Control

Available to level 3 sport and exercise science students.

Skill classification, measurement of motor performance, theories of motor control, motor learning, practice and feedback.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to understand the neural, mechanical and cognitive bases for controlling movement;
  2. demonstrate an ability to conduct tests of motor function and to evaluate problems in motor learning and control.

Assessment by a three-hour end-of-semester examination (60%); on-course assignments (40%).
