Students enrolling in this subject will explore the practical applications of 35mm photography with particular reference to the following areas: use and operation of camera equipment; the control of exposure through the operation of aperture and shutter; understanding and control of depth of field and movement; types and characteristics of photographic lenses.
Learning Objectives:
- develop basic competence in the use of manual 35mm camera equipment;
- gain experience in the use of different types of film;
- acquire a basic understanding of the measurement and control of light.
Assessment by three practical assignments (75%); folio of photographs (25%).
