Human Biomechanics 1

The mechanical and anatomical basis of human movement including the detailed biomechanics of the upper body, lower body and spine. Static and material properites of body tissues and basic kinematics and kinetics. Biomechanics of muscle, bone and joint architecture.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to understand the theoretical concepts covered in lectures;
  2. to solve problems related to these topics;
  3. to undertake experimental work and write laboratory reports.

Assessment by a three-hour end of semester examination (65%); on-course tutorial assignments (15%); practical work (20%).
