Advanced Feature Writing

33 hours workshops/seminars. Semester 2.
Available to BJ students.
Students choose ‘rounds’ (eg arts, environment,politics, science, health, education) and develop skills learnt in JN2003 in order to: present/write a news feature; write an editorial/opinion piece based on feature; an objective review of work produce.
Learning Objectives:
- to refine and expand writing skills;
- to develop advanced editorial skills;
- to nurture/encourage objective presentation of printed matter;
- to be able to work productively and effectively in a print media organisation.
Assessment by participation in classes (10%); news features and other written work throughout the semester (90%).
