This subject builds on the skills gained in Print 1. It covers the principles of writing for non-Indigenous and Indigenous print media and includes instruction in layout and desktop publishing skills. It has a strong component of publishing on the worldwide web, using Dreamweaver and Photoshop software.

Learning Objectives:

  1. empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with the skills required to publish their own stories;
  2. develop skills in the technology used to produce community newsletters;
  3. empower students with the skills required to tackle mainstream news stories;
  4. enable students to edit, design, layout and print their own stories using desktop publishing and to publish on the worldwide web.

Assessment by on-campus practical assignments (80%); off-campus assignment (20%).
