Available to all students enrolled in the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and other health science programs.

This subject will deepen the theoretical and even more the practical knowledge about research in the health sciences. Groups of students will conduct small research projects of qualitative and quantitative nature. By undertaking a research project the students will carry out a literature review, formulate a research hypothesis, learn about study designs, develop tools for data collection, establish a data base, learn basic methods of analysing data with the computer and write a report about their findings. The students will give presentations of their study results.
Learning Objectives:
- understand theoretical concepts of quantitative and qualitative research methods in the health sciences;
- apply theoretical concepts of research in the health sciences in practice;
- understand how research projects are implemented and appreciate problems and limitations of studies;
- interpret findings and draw conclusions from data.
Assessment by four assignments (group assessment) (60%); two presentations (individual assessment) (40%).
