This subject focuses on integrating students’ practical skills and conceptual knowledge of GIS towards building a GIS “from scratch” to address a real world regional environmental issue.
Learning Objectives:
- work as a team to develop a GIS from start to finish;
- practise basic skills in data creation, quality control and management;
- build valuable problem solving and trouble-shooting abilities;
- interpret the project findings in a real world context.
Assessment by team exercises (5%); oral presentation (10%); team report (35%); individual report (50%).
