Third Year Professional Experience

4 hours lectures, 150 hours professional experience. Full year.
Available to students who are required to re-enrol in in 2003. Available to students who have successfully completed 40 units of BEd subjects, including 9 units in each discipline area for BEd Secondary and and are concurrently enrolled in (Early Childhood), (Primary) or (Secondary).

This subject is part of the developmental curriculum for professional experience within the BEd program. In schools and centres relevant to their specialist sector (Early Childhood, Primary, or Secondary), students will complete four weeks throughout the year, with an option for rural sites. During this time, students will continue to develop skills and personal practical knowledge, and to work collaboratively with school-based teacher educators.
In addition, throughout the year, students will complete 50 hours of voluntary community service which they will document in a log and submit to the Professional Experience Unit.
Learning Objectives:
Assessment by school-based teacher educators who will complete a written report on the student’s demonstrated competence in developing teaching skills; completed signed log of 50 hours voluntary education community service.
