Major topics include financial analysis and planning; management of cash and accounts receivable; time value of money; risk, return and valuation; capital project appraisal; financing of working capital; capital structure decisions.
Learning Objectives:
- prepare a profit plan for a business organisation;
- formulate short- and long-term financing strategies for a business enterprise;
- evaluate proposed capital projects;
- perform basic security valuation;
- demonstrate an understanding of the principles of working capital management;
- assess the implications of leasing assets.
Assessment by assignments (20%); two tests (20%); examination (60%).
