Medical Laboratory Science Research Elective

Semester 1.
Available to level 4 Medical Laboratory Science Honours students.
Staff: Mr J Warner.
Candidates will carry out independent research investigation on a topic determined and proposed in level 3. The subject encompasses data collection and dissertation writing. The defence of the investigation will be conducted at a mutually agreed time during level 4.
Learning Objectives:
- complete research investigation;
- prepare a dissertation on the topic;
- understand aspects of experimental design, planning costing, execution and data interpretation;
- understand conventions in scientific writing and data presentation.
Assessment by attendance at practical classes and related examination (25%); material presented in lectures (70%); assignment (5%). The honours component will be assessed pas per the award requirements.
