Contact hours will vary according to the module chosen up to a maximum of 120 hours workshops. Semester 2.
Available to level 2 BT students only.
Students enrolling in this subject will undertake modules in either Acting or Production. Studio production and performance projects are devised to facilitate individual student-focused work towards professional practice.
Acting
Study topic Acting for camera. Students are to learn the terminology and practical skills necessary for professional practice in TV and cinema industries.
Production
Students develop the skills required in various areas of film and television production and the principles and techniques behind scripting, shooting, editing, directing and producing a video production. They will develop an understanding of the terminologies used in the Australian television and film industries.
Learning Objectives:
- to develop creativity and enable students to identify, employ and obtain mastery of key competencies necessary to professional practice.
Assessment by:
Acting
Ability to cold read in audition situation (20%); work under pressure of deadline (20%); be appropriate vocally in front of the camera (20%); be appropriate physically (20%); learn on the spot as in rehearsal/recording situation (20%).
Production
Script and produce a short television commercial, film or documentary (50%); practical tests and practical participation (50%).
