20 hours lectures, 20 hours tutorials. Semester 2. Internal students only 2002 (available by flexible delivery in 2003).
Available only to level 3 nursing science students.
This subject assists to prepare the student for the transition from undergraduate student to professional registered nurse. The students are introduced to the principals of management, leadership and the use of planning tools within a bureaucracy.
Learning Objectives:
- discuss quality improvement functions as components of the nurses responsibility to the profession and to the institution;
- outline a range of issues pertinent to the role and function of the newly registered nurse;
- contribute effectively to group processes within the workplace.
On-course assessment (100%).
