Performing Music 3

26 hours lectures, 26 hours seminars, 26 hours practicals. Full year.

Students in this subject will build on the training undertaken in Performing Music 2 and continue to develop advanced skills in their area(s) of specialisation. They will also develop advanced aural skills and continue to participate in the choir.

Learning Objectives:

  1. develop and enhance skills in either composition, instrumental or vocal performance, musicology or music technology in a variety of contexts;
  2. develop and enhance verbal and written skills in a variety of music contexts;
  3. increase aural awareness skills of perception, analysis, identification and synthesis.

Assessment by approved elective tasks (75%); aural training (25%); Choir (satisfactory/unsatisfactory). Late submission of assessment items will attract penalties unless an extension has been granted in writing by the lecturer. Work submitted by students with an attendance rate of less than 80% may not be eligible for assessment without prior written approval from the lecturer.
