Research Dissertation

Available as part of the Honours course to level 4 students with a GPA of at least 5. Students not enrolled in the Honours course may be admitted to this subject at the Executive Dean’s discretion. Semester 1 and 2.

Honours candidates must enrol in this subject, in either Semester 1 or 2 of their final year. Students will be required to submit a substantial piece of research at the end of the relevant semester. The length of the dissertation is 9,000-12,000 words. Students should refer to the Law Honours Rules as printed in this Handbook.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to develop high quality research and writing skills in areas of law which require deep critical analysis and evaluation, synthesis and reform;
  2. to foster the development of such research skills and the publication of such writing.

Assessment by dissertation (100%).
