Intermediate Japanese 2

13 hours lectures (video-conferenced to Cairns), 26 hours tutorials (over three intensive workshops in Cairns). Semester 2.

This subject continues building intermediate level communicative skills across the four macro-skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to equip students with the skills necessary to request passing on messages; discuss simple medical conditions; express degrees; discuss probabilities and possibilities; communicate successfully in reading and writing on the above topics; comprehend the main points of the story line in a film or a TV drama; write summaries on the above; comprehend and construct sentences at a higher level of complexity than expected in the prerequisite subject, such as for example use the causative.

Assessment by assignments, in-class tests, oral/aural and written examinations: listening (25%); speaking (25%); reading (25%); writing (25%).
