Music Production

Available to Bachelor of Indigenous Studies students and other students with approval.

This subject has been designed to accommodate the cultural interests of Indigenous audiences as expressed through music production and recording.

Learning Objectives:

  1. identify and use wild sound, live sound and composed sound;
  2. develop editing and production techniques;
  3. understand music rights acquisition;
  4. develop the capacity to select and prepare music and musicians for studio recording;
  5. the ability to prepare appropriate studio or location facilities for music recording;
  6. the ability to undertake the basic technical processes associated with recording music;
  7. The ability to archive, copy, promote, program and broadcast music.

Assessment by music recording assignments (60%); worksheets (10%); promotion assignment (10%); attendance and participation (20%).
