Indigenous Australian Worldviews 3

Contact hours to be negotiated with supervisor. Semester 1. Combination of on-campus and external modes.

Available to Bachelor of Indigenous Studies students and other undergraduate students.

Staff: Ms S Moore, Ms M Mollison.

Students will undertake an independent research project developed in negotiation with their lecturers. The project can take the form of a written research paper/and/or documentary film. Students will prepare their proposal including a literature review, for approval prior to commencing the research paper or documentary film. The project outcomes should be presented in a 20 minute seminar to other students and staff.

Learning Objectives:

  1. plan and develop a research project;
  2. develop interpersonal and communication skills;
  3. identify and describe current expressions for Indigenous Australian Worldviews;
  4. analyse responses to the assertion of Indigenous Australian Worldviews.

Assessment by research proposal (10%); project (60%); seminar presentation (30%).
