This is the fourth semester of a six semester advanced program for students studying Graphic Design. Students will continue to develop an understanding of both the design and production aspects of creative project development, whilst working towards developing a distinctive, yet flexible personal style. Emphasis is placed on refining conceptual and creative proficiency in conjunction with technical skills relative to the studio and commercial environment. Design activities range from concept development, production of story boards, visuals and presentation visuals for client approval, through to final production of the work. Client liaison and communication issues are examined in depth, as well as project presentation and workflow management techniques. Areas covered include pricing, quoting and estimating, dealing with printers, suppliers, bureaus and internet service providers. Design, artwork and production methods are examined according to the relevant production mode. Troubleshooting, pricing and time management issues are investigated.
