Environmental Law and Policy

The concepts of environmental law and policy and their application to the use, management and conservation of natural resources with particular emphasis on pollution control, ocean and coastal management, environmental planning, environmental and social impact statements, sustainable development, indigenous traditional rights, national parks and wildlife conservation. Relevant state, federal and international laws.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to provide students with a basic understanding of legal source materials, legal reasoning, legal terminology, legal concepts and operational frameworks.

On-course assessment (50%); examination (50%).
