This subject will provide the participants with the opportunity to enhance their skills in the use of online learning technologies. They will acquire the skills they need to develop and maintain online teaching and learning resources and use them effectively in their teaching practices.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to have a thorough knowledge of how the WWW operates and be able to efficiently use a variety of Web tools;
  2. to understand how the WWW can be used effectively in teaching;
  3. to have an understanding of processes and learning frameworks used in the design and development of course content for web based delivery;
  4. to be able to deliver course material via the WWW and incorporate a web conferencing system.

Assessment by online literature search on a chosen topic (10%); debate of issues in a web discussion group (10%); development of a subject site map (40%); design and development of a subject/module web site (40%).
