Townsville, Cairns

HECS Band 2

13 hours workshops. Semester 1 and 2.

Available to Information Technology undergraduate students.

This subject is the first half of a minor project in Information Technology. This first half of the project will require a survey of relevant literature, an analysis of the problem to be solved and a high level design feasibility analysis. An account of the work done must be submitted as an interim project report and presented as a seminar.

Learning Objectives:

  1. apply principles and methods of scientific thinking to a critical review and assessment of relevant literature;
  2. formulate a problem and relate it to the literature review;
  3. perform high level design feasibility analysis;
  4. present the results in a written form and in a seminar.

Assessment involves on-course assessment including presentations, assignments and submissions of project reports. Full details of the assessment are handed out to students in the first week of the semester and will be published on the Web.
