Demand Chain Management (an e-Commerce Perspective)

This subject takes on an integrative management approach and consists of two parts: the first part includes a general understanding and/or review of e-Commerce communication and distribution systems and e-Commerce value strategies. These concepts are then integrated into the development of an e-Commerce strategy, from which to set up effective e-Commerce management tools. The second part uses the generic framework of part one and puts it into an overall demand chain management framework.

Learning Objectives:

  1. gain an overall understanding and appreciation of changing business models in today’s internet enabled world;
  2. embark on innovative ways of marketing and creating customer value;
  3. get a good comprehensive understanding of the entire value chain and how e-Commerce applications are impacting modern management.

Assessment by assignments and group projects (60%); take-home e-examination (40%).
