Available to level 4 Honours students.

The subject examines advanced archaeological theory and method. It includes a program of specialised reading and study, as well as supervised research work on an approved archaeological topic.
Learning Objectives:
- become conversant with advanced archaeological theory and method;
- become conversant with archaeology’s links with other sciences, social sciences and humanities;
- design and carry out a research project;
- complete and write-up the research project as a thesis;
- learn to work independently as an archaeologist.
Assessment by written assignments (40%); an honours thesis (60%).
