Honours Preparation Seminar

Townsville, Cairns

26 hours workshops or the equivalent in mixed mode on-campus delivery. Second semester.

Staff: Dr S Gair (Townsville campus); Ms R Lynn (Cairns campus).

The subject will provide a practical guide for students who wish to develop a research project. The emphasis will be on research methods and planning. The format will consist of seminars, lectures and guided reading.

Learning Objectives:

  1. understand the research process;
  2. know how to develop a literature review;
  3. articulate and explain proposed research;
  4. plan and develop a research proposal.

Assessment will be by seminar presentation (40%); research proposal (60%).
