Methodology in Women’s Studies

Prerequisites: Permission of Director, Centre for Women's Studies

13 lecture/seminars or the equivalent in mixed mode delivery. Flexible delivery first and second semester.

An interdisciplinary survey of research methodologies in women’s studies. Students examine theoretical issues in feminist methodologies and study examples of women’s studies research in history, art/literary criticism, education, the health and social sciences.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to develop and demonstrate understanding of current research methodologies in women’s studies;
  2. to apply a methodological framework to analysis of a relevant issue in women’s studies.

Assessment by research paper (3,000 words) (60%); critical thinking logbook (40%).
