Epidemiology for Public Health

This subject introduces students to methodologies of epidemiology. Topics include descriptive epidemiology (measures of disease frequency, descriptive study types), analytic epidemiology (experimental designs, observational designs, measures of association), types of bias and controlling methods for bias, screening surveillance systems, demography, decision analysis, infectious disease epidemiology, validity in epidemiologic research and how to read a publication.

Practical exercises include critically discussing selected articles of epidemiologic studies.
