The major viral, bacterial, fungal and parasitic diseases of humans in the tropics are discussed with emphasis on their aetiology, pathogenesis, epidemiology, diagnosis and control. The subject aims particularly to bring health practices up to date on the current knowledge and theories regarding those infectious diseases of relevance to populations in tropical Australia and it near neighbours.
