Strategies for involving parents and children in health education will be included.

  2. to examine immunisation and illness, accidents and emergencies;
  3. to examine children with special needs;
  4. to examine environmental safety;
  5. to examine health promotion.

Assessment by Option 1: (a) a combination of short answer questions submitted progressively for each module; (b) the design and implementation of a parent teaching session which promotes health or safety (the topic can be negotiated); Option 2: (a) select two of the NCAC Principles, critically analyse existing policies and practices. Discuss how these procedures could be improved; (b) design a health care plan for a child with special needs attending the centre.
