Writing for Film

26 hours workshops. Second semester.

This subject provides the student with the fundamental skills of film writing. The student also considers writing for TV. This is a practical subject where the student’s creative product is developed through drafting and workshopping written material with the group. Students will also view films and analyse selected film scripts.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to widen understanding of film culture;
  2. to develop sufficient skills to write a short film;
  3. to develop skills necessary to format and present the film script to industry standards.

Assessment by seminar participation (20%); minor project (20%); major project (40%); writer’s journal (20%).
