Research Methodology and Proposal Writing

This subject will study ethics in research, laboratory methods and safety, library and database searches, statistics and graphics, scientific writing, preparation of research grant proposals and the importance of research grant interviews.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to appreciate the importance of ethics in research;
  2. to understand the concept of safety and risk assessment;
  3. to recognise the on-line resources available to researchers;
  4. to complete a research grant proposal.

Assessment by assignments, examination of a research grant proposal and performance in a mock research grant interview.
