Literature Review

First and second semester.

Staff: Professor P Summers.

Students will prepare a review of the literature on a topic chosen in consultation with their supervisor(s) and the course coordinator. The review (3,000-5,000 words) should be a critical appraisal of the objectives, methodologies and results of a body of research relevant to the chosen topic.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to enhance reading, writing and presentation skills with particular reference to scientific literature in physiology, pharmacology and related disciplines.

Two or more staff members of the School and the student’s supervisor will assess and report on the Review.
