Sport Physics

Prerequisites: Senior Maths B (Maths C or Physics desirable)

26 lectures, 13 practice classes,26 hours practicals and a project. Second semester.

Available to all students but directed towards Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science students.

Staff: Mr R Jaycock.

Heat and thermodynamics, evaporative cooling, humidity; gas laws; partial pressure, gas absorption, drive tables; energy conversion and respiration, fluid dynamics.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to acquire a basic knowledge of the subject content and be able to use it to solve simple problems;
  2. a basis is formed to permit the development of more complex skills in subsequent years.

Assessment by a three-hour examination; tutorials; work performed during laboratory sessions and a project.
