Prerequisites: 18 level 2 units or permission of HoS

26 lectures, 12 tutorials. Second semester (Townsville campus); second semester (Cairns campus). Also offered at Holmes College in Sydney and Melbourne, first and second semester and January/February intensive block mode.

Strategic Management integrates the functional areas of marketing, finance operations and TQM and human resources into a meaningful whole. In addition it deals with creating a future for an organisation.

Learning Objectives:

  1. why strategic management is necessary;
  2. the impact of internal and external stakeholders;
  3. the strategy formulation, implementation and control process;
  4. the effect on strategy regarding the dimensions of business, i.e. SMEs and MNEs;
  5. students will be able to produce a corporate/business plan.
