Research and Investigation Techniques

13 lectures, 20 hours workshops. First semester.

This subject builds on the skills gained in JN1001 and JN1002 and develops students’ research and investigation techniques. Students will also develop high level electronic search skills, involving research and analysis of real issues in North Queensland.

Learning Objectives:

  1. reinforce journalistic skills learnt at level 1;
  2. develop practical skills in electronic research;
  3. develop analytical and investigative skills for news writing.

Assessment by regular assignments.
