This subject builds on Television 1 and 2 and Journalism within the Diploma and has been designed to nurture the technical and creative skills necessary to undertake short single issue story planning and production and prepare the material for studio packaging and presentation.

Learning Objectives:

  1. the ability to isolate an idea or issue and undertake the research necessary to convert the material into a producible form;
  2. the ability to undertake the necessary production management activities to ensure the production is possible;
  3. the ability to undertake practical single camera location production;
  4. the ability to undertake appropriate post production;
  5. the ability to develop basic studio skills.

Assessment by on-campus written/video assignment (40%). on-campus worksheets and practicals (20%); off-campus assignment (20%); documentation (10%); attendance and participation (10%).
