Microclimatology

26 lectures, 12 tutorials, 20 hours practicals, 16 hours field work. First semester.

Available to level 2 TG and EV students, subject to approval of Head of School.

The subject introduces aspects of the microclimatology of Australian ecosystems. It emphasises the comparative microclimates of rainforests, open forests and grasslands, microclimates of croplands and microclimates of urban areas.

Learning Objectives:

  1. introduce aspects of basic microclimatology;
  2. introduce microclimatological aspects of the functioning of selected Australian ecosystems.

Assessment by essay (20%); field report (20%); practicals (10%); examination (50%).
