Protected Area Management Project Part 1

Prerequisites: Admission to Postgraduate program
Inadmissable Subject Combination: EV5211 TG5211

First and second semester.

Available to postgraduate coursework students.

Staff: Mr P Valentine.

An independent research investigation or applied project in a selected aspect of protected area management; typically each will involve working with protected area management staff on a specific problem. Project selection must be approved by the Course Coordinator. It is sometimes possible to do work as a placement project.

Learning Objectives:

  1. the main learning objective is to develop the ability to undertake and complete an independent project; to identify and design appropriate tasks; to gain skills in working with protected area management agency staff; to gain knowledge of the operation of a protected area management agency and to develop project planning, budgeting, management and completion skills.

Assessment by project proposal or presentation (10%); project report (90%).
