Legal Environment of Business

Prerequisites: Admission to MCom

40 seminars. First and second semester.

Available to students enrolled in the Master of Commerce (coursework) program.

An advanced treatment of selected topics in business law and of their impact on decision-making by and within business entities with special reference to taxation, trade practices, company law and the law affecting international trade.

Learning Objectives:

The objectives of the course will vary in line with the areas of law chosen for detailed study.

In general, students will be able to identify the principles of law governing particular problem situations and will be able to solve problems using those principles. They will also be able to identify how those principles impact on managerial decision–making.
