Management Accounting 1

Prerequisites: CO1001 or CO1002 or CO1101

26 lectures, 24 tutorials. First semester. Also offered at Holmes College in Sydney and Melbourne, first and second semester and January/February intensive block mode.

The concepts and techniques relevant to providing accounting and related data for management planning, control and decision making.

Learning Objectives:

  1. explain the uses and limitations of cost data for planning operations; controlling activities; and decision making.
  2. describe, evaluate and demonstrate the technical skills necessary to problem solve in the areas of product costing; cost behaviour; cost volume profit analysis; budgeting; and performance analysis.

Assessment by computer based assignment (5%); on-course test (15%); final examination (80%).
