Tropical Agricultural Field Studies

Townsville

5 day field trip. First or second semester.

Staff: Mr C Gardiner, Assoc. Professor R Coventry.

This subject consists of two compulsory field trips, during the lecture recess in first and second semester, visiting private and commercial properties and government research stations to the north and to the south of Townsville.

Learning Objectives:

  1. to introduce students to practical aspects of primary production in a variety of industries and environments in Northern Queensland;
  2. to establish skills in note-taking and observation and in collation of material and report writing.

Assessment by two major written assignments relating to the field trip; field trip diary, level of participation in subject activities.
